{short description of image}

The author would like to take this opportunity to recommend two wonderful books, from which many of the photographs found on this website have been taken: Lennart Nilsson's A Child is Born and Geraldine Lux Flanagan's Beginning Life. These are both wonderfully informative, beautifully illustrated books -- great sources of further information on prenatal development.
